Diana and Sitou engagement photos had two parts, one outside and one inside. You can discover the outside pictures HERE. For the inside engagement photos we went to their apartment. We wanted to create something more intimate.

Few years ago, I read a blog post from the amazing Kristin Weaver, destination wedding photographer from Orlando, about an engagement session that she did in a couple’s house and I wanted to photograph one. Diana and Sitou were up for the idea as soon as I told them!

Their bedroom was the perfect place for the pictures; it has a lot of beautiful natural light. I understand that not everybody will like those pictures but for those who like the idea, please don’t hesitate to talk with me about of having some done. It can be in your house but also a hotel room if you think that it would be a better setting. It also could be different part of the house.

I really like those pictures as they are more private, intimate. They show how much they love each other and reflect so much their personality.

Diana and Sitou are my good friends. We have been friends for years now and it was special for me to capture their engagement photos.  It was a beautiful day but really hot! We thought that it would be nice to have two parts; the first one outside and the second one inside. We decided to go to UNF for their outside engagement photos. UNF is an important place for them because they met there few years ago.  Follow the pictures below because we recreate some of their important moments at UNF!

We have two different opinions about the locations. Both agree it’s at UNF but they disagree on the exact place! Lol! first sightFew months later after meeting each other around the campus and in the library, Sitou gave Diana a Teddy Bear. Yes, the one that you can see on the picture! She was happy but didn’t react too much. love storyFew hours later, she texted him and asked him to get our of his class right now! He left his class and found her outside waiting for him. Their first kiss was right outside the class! (and yes… they agree on which class it was!) first kissThe teddy-bear is the beginning of their story! Teddy bear story  Sitou proposed to Diana at the end of her ½ marathon last year!proposalengagement with floweroutside engagement photossilly engagement photosrunning together engagement

DON’T MISS OUR SPECIAL “FAMILY PORTRAIT MONTH” PROMOTION!

FamilyMonth

During September Severine Photography will participate with an elite group of photographers around the country in a very special family portrait promotion. Throughout the month we will celebrate “Family Portrait Month,” a wonderful opportunity for you to update your family portrait (or portraits of your children) and help to support Dando Amor, a non-profit charity, founded by photographers and dedicated to improving the lives of orphans living in deplorable conditions in the developing world.

During September we will donate 50% of our session fee to Dando Amor, which makes regular service trips to orphanages in Ecuador, Burkina Faso-Africa and Haiti. In 2013 Dando Amor opened its own orphanage in Quito, Ecuador. The charity also provides volunteers who raise funds for it to experience “a different kind of vacation,” so they can be personally involved in helping orphans live better and fuller lives. Volunteers have taken part in hands-on activities ranging from repairing facilities, building classrooms, and replacing sewer systems, to purchasing vital furnishings and fixtures such as cribs, beds, mattresses, as well as everyday necessities that American children take for granted.

We also believe that Family Portrait Month is a wonderful way to teach children the value of reaching out to others. Even small children can understand the importance of Dando Amor’s work, and they are eager to help these needy children.

We hope you will join with us in helping to make this vital work possible. Don’t forget that the holiday season is right around the corner, so there’s no better time for a family portrait, which always is appreciated as gifts for family and friends and as holiday greeting cards.

To learn more about the charity log on to http://www.dandoamor.org. To reserve your session or to learn more about Family Portrait Month, contact us at 904.238.2035 or email us at severine.wider@gmail.com. Go to www.severine-photography.com to see some portraits.

Sessions will fill up quickly, so don’t be disappointed. Schedule your session today!

Here is the second part of our visit to Kyoto Japan. I decided to have more street photography in this post. I thought that it was better to have them together as they are very different from the landscape ones. Street photography is a style of photography. I am far away to be specialized in but I love to test it while I am traveling. In street photography it’s about the perfect moment. You can read more about street photography here. A famous street photographer was Henri Carter-Bresson, a French photographer. Look online for him; his pictures are gorgeous!

Visit to kyoto JapanI love how the mother looks and tilts her head to read what is inside the vending machine. I love the perfect instant 🙂

It was very nice too all those young students listening with attention to their teacher telling them the story of the temple.Visit to Kyoto Japankyoto Japan PhotographerI had to take a picture of this cross. We were inside a Buddhist temple. I asked my friend and he told me that it was only a way to keep the rope and wasn’t a cross 🙂
