Elizabeth and her fiancé Michael met us at the Landing in downtown Jacksonville for their engagement photography a few weeks ago. We happened to plan our meeting time just as the Vestcor 5k Bridges run was finishing up. It was unexpected to see so many runners downtown, but it wasn’t a problem at all for our session. The runners and spectators quickly cleared up after they passed and soon it was just another beautiful evening perfect for a downtown Jacksonville engagement photography session.

We started the shoot by walking across the MainStreetBridge across the St. Johns River. The bridge is great for taking photos. In my opinion it is the best looking bridge with it’s intricate metal work, nice blue paint and blue lights shining on it at night time make it a landmark for our city. The bridge also provides great views of the Jacksonville skyline and Friendship Fountain. There is a sidewalk as well as little platforms we were able to stop and have the lovely couple pose for some gorgeous photos over the river with the city as a backdrop.

From the bridge we continued walking to Friendship Fountain stopping for a few shots on the boardwalk along the river. Friendship Fountain has to one of the most colorful locations at night in Jacksonville. The fountain is illuminated by changing colors of light, which provided a beautiful backdrop for Elizabeth and Michael’s engagement photography.

That night there was a chance of showers so we carried umbrellas to have some fun just in case it rained. Although it didn’t storm on us and we stayed dry, we decided to have some fun with the umbrellas anyway. It made a great prop for Elizabeth and Michael to finish off our shots in front of the fountain.

We finished off the session back in front of the Landing; we took a few last minute shots and then said our good byes. It was fun working with Elizabeth and Michael and we can’t wait to see them on their wedding day.

The Palencia Club is an amazing venue for your wedding but they also are a golf course and country club. They are located on the Intracoastal Waterway just north of the city of St. Augustine, Florida. They have an amazing 18 hole golf course wrapping around lakes and cutting through the woods lining the marshy banks of the Tolomato River. Besides having a world class golf course The Palencia Club has a beautiful club house. The clubhouse has a pro shop for all the golfers needs as well as several different dining and banquet halls. They have a total of four different dining options at Palencia, for a more formal fine dining experience The Palencia Club offers the Cordoba Formal Dining room, and The Learning Tree Lounge, and the Reinosa Banquet Room for special member events or to rent out for weddings and other private parties. In the clubhouse there is also the Cafe on the Green a more casual dining option that is open to the public. The cafe features a bar and has many comfortable chairs and tables to sit down and enjoy your meal while catching up on the latest sports on one of the many new flat screen televisions. The cafe also features an outside patio with great views of a lake and the golf course to enjoy while you eat some tasty food.

Recently The Palencia Club asked Severine Photography to come out and take some pictures of the cafe on the greens. It is not the room for the wedding reception but it can give you an idea of the beautiful place that Palencia is. More pictures are coming soon!

Today we are excited to share Marc and Dawn’s beautiful St Augustine wedding with everyone. St Augustine is a very popular city to get married in North Florida. There is just something about the style and charm of the oldest city in the United States that makes it a great place to get married. The day and the venues Dawn and Marc chose for there wedding were wonderful. The weather was perfect, one of the rare days in Florida with blues skies without a chance for rain. Dawn got ready at the Cedar House Inn, a charming little bed and breakfast just south of the main plaza. The gardens and balconies made for perfect backdrops for us to use to get details of the rings and her shoes and dress. Marc got ready in the Casa Monica Hotel, one of the most majestic hotels from the late 1800’s in St Augustine.

The best part about a wedding in St. Augustine is the close proximity of everything, both the locations they got ready at were just a short walk to the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine the location of the wedding ceremony. This basilica’s architecture is amazing , and the ceremony was beautiful. The reception location was just a short walk down St. George Street to the Cuna Street at the Tasting Room, it was so much fun walking through all the tourists with a bridal party. People were so nice and excited for Marc and Dawn that they got numerous congratulations from strangers on the short walk. The reception was great they hired an amazing Spanish Guitar player Dennis Fermin to provide background music while everyone enjoyed the food and mingled with the newly weds.

Marc organized a special surprise for Dawn for their exit from the reception, he arranged to have a horse and carriage arrive as they exited to take them on a romantic ride around town. He planned on having Severine ride with them so that they could stop at their favorite places in St Augustine to take beautiful couple portraits, which came out amazing. It was so much fun photographing their big day and we are super happy with how great the photos came out.

Lindsey and Daniel are couple that fell in love during their time spent together at Florida State University in Tallahassee. They are going to be married later this year in Jacksonville, but chose to have their engagement photos taken at the college where they fell in love. So we packed up all our equipment and made the few hour journey to Tallahassee  for our first Florida State University engagement session.

Florida State University is a beautiful campus, the old brick buildings, beautiful doorways and blooming gardens made lovely backdrops for the engagement session. Daniel works at FSU so he knew all the best locations to shoot at on campus. He brought us to a nice fountain in front of one of the campus halls, which made for a amazing background for a few shots. We had fun with Lindsey and Daniel they had a few ideas of the photos that they wanted, the purchased some old wooden chairs with the hope of finding a street for them to pose in. We found the prefect street with a nice view and no cars parked around. Unfortunately it was one of the busiest streets cutting through campus, and had to rush to set up the chairs pose Lindsey and Daniel and take the picture before the next car came. It took doing this a few times but finally we managed to get the perfect shot they were looking for.

After we finished up in the streets we went back toward the dorm Lindsey used to stay at. Some beautiful people flowers were in bloom right behind a bench so we just had to stop to take  picture or two. We ended the session at a little park as the sun was starting to set.  The golden light from the setting sun created a gorgeous glow on the lovely couple. We can’t wait to shoot their wedding coming up at the Library Downtown Jacksonville in September.

Recently we invested in our very own digital photo both. We are super excited to say that our new photo booth is now available to rent!!!! This nifty machine has quickly become one of our clients and our favorite experiences at events and receptions. It is a free standing all in one open-air photo booth with a built in quality high megapixel digital SLR camera and it comes equipped with its very own strobe light as well!! The pictures it takes are amazing and great for printing. My favorite part of the photo booth is that it is open-air, you are not cramped inside a little box, you have room to have fun with a group of  your friends. We can set it up virtually anywhere; We just have to set it up in front of nice backdrop we find at your location, or we can bring one of our fabric backdrops or even create one based on the style of the event you are hosting. We will provide a professional to manage the booth at all times during your event so you and your guests can relax and enjoy the dressing up and posing without worrying about taking the photo or any logistics. Having a camera operator at your booth will also ensure your images are safely backed-up and all equipment is working properly during the event.

Severine Photography offers on-site printing services. We offer 4×6 print with 3 different pictures and the option to personalize the print.
We also display the digital photo booth images in an online gallery the next day of the event! Beautiful, professional quality prints will also be available for purchase through the online gallery, or guests can download their photographs at high-resolution and print their own images!

Contact us today to add the fun of a photo booth to your next event and find more information at: http://photobooth.severine-photography.com/
