Lindsey & Daniel Jacksonville library wedding was gorgeous. Look at the video teaser and I am sure you will understand what I mean 🙂

We started the day at Lindsey’s parents friend’s house where Lindsey decided to get ready with her bridesmaids, mom, and flower girl. The house was beautiful and full of pictures that reminded us how important it is to print your pictures. They are memories!!!! The ceremony was at Monument Point Fellowship where Lindsey’s father is the pastor. The church was beautifully decorated and the field behind was perfect for pictures. The bridal party still remembers me for asking them to walk through it… but look at the pictures it’s so worth it!

The reception was at downtown Jacksonville library in their courtyard. The weather was perfect (as Lindsey always said it would be :-). The library is an amazing venue for weddings! So beautiful and Lindsey and Daniel did an fantastic job to decorate it.

Finally as I promised in the previous post here is their story written by Daniel: (click here to see Lindsey version)

A. Wet met at a function at FSU through a few friends during the Spring 2010 semester. After spending some time having incredible conversation about faith and family, they we decided to meet up again on campus. There, I asked to buy her dinner. While Tropical Smoothie later that afternoon wasn’t the most romantic getaway, it did show how eager I was to spend more time with her.
From there we began to talk more and date, until June 2010. At that point we separated.
In the Fall 2011, she messaged me on Facebook and let me know she had run in to someone from the same city where I went to college. We spend the next couple of weeks/months catching up from the past year and a half. In early December, she came to Tallahassee to see a friend, and we were able to spend the evening together. That sparked our relationship back up, and we’ve been together ever since.

For the proposal, I selected the location in Tallahassee that has had a special meaning to us: Lake Ella.
I spent the afternoon decorating the gazebo with string lights around the top and sides. I also got her favorite flowers, orchids and placed them in a circle in the middle of the gazebo. I decorated each of the four benches with some type of material. An FSU blanket, and Arkansas Razorback blanket, chevron pattern, and leopard print pattern. On each bench, I put a collaged picture frame. Half of the frames in each collage were pictures of us, and the other half had the words to the Galatians 5:22-23 verses that speak to the Fruits of the Spirit. Finally, I lit tea candles and placed them lining the sidewalk leading up to the gazebo.
I had her friend grab dinner with her, and then make an excuse to drive near Lake Ella. When they got close, her friend inexplicably turned in to the park. I was standing there and escorted her down the sidewalk to the gazebo. I led her around to each of the picture frames, and then brought her inside the circle of orchids, got down on one knee, and the rest is history! We had her friend take pictures, and her parents were also on hand to witness the proposal from a distance!

Lindsey studio bridal session was planned 10 days before her wedding and it was perfect. She had her two dresses (yes… two dresses!) ready and fitted. She had one dress for the ceremony and a second one for the reception. She told me that she couldn’t choose between so she bought both 🙂  It was important to have beautiful bridal pictures because we weren’t sure that we would have time to get bridal pictures with both dresses.

Here is how Lindsey told their story:

(you will have to wait the wedding blog for Daniel’ side 🙂

I met Daniel when I was in my last year at college and he was working for the university. I was being inducted into an Alumni association and he was there to watched some of his students. After the ceremony, we were surrounded by a group of students and co-workers who introduced us. As cliche as it sounds, Facebook allowed us to talk and connect me. We talked endlessly for weeks over funny things like correcting my grammar and creating new words. We decided to meet up and share these words we created the week of Earth Day. Of course, I didn’t create a word but he did. His word jumbled together spelled “Can I take you to Dinner?” So we went to tropical smoothie! Between it being our first time in public together to his car stalling out at an intersection, it was one of the most uncomfortable car rides! Good news: it went well enough that we continued to talk for several weeks after that and even made a trip to Arkansas to meet his family. Yet as timing would have it, the relationship ended. With being a student myself and he being employed with the University, we had to keep the relationship a secret which proved more a challenge than ever expected. We decided to go our separate ways and not contact each other. So we did…
A year and a half went by and occasionally he would cross my mind. I was working in Orange Park, Florida and he was still in Tallahassee, Florida. One day I had a customer in the store wearing a Conway, Arkansas shirt (the location where Daniel went to school). So I just decided to message Daniel saying, “I saw someone in the store with a Conway, Arkansas shirt and it made me think of you. Hope you are doing well.” To which Daniel sent back a novel telling me how life was. For two weeks we talked just like old times then it stopped. It was three weeks later that I received a message from him at Thanksgiving. It took some talking to his mother to decide to proceed with this again. From those conversations on, we became Daniel & Lindsey even better than before. We didn’t have to be in secret! We commuted back and forth for month spending weekends and day off’s together. So much gas and time was invested in the traveling for only a few hours of time together. It really made you envious of “normal” relationships in the same city! Little did we know that God has something big planned for us. On April 30, I was relocated to a city I never thought I would live again: Tallahassee. I remember calling to tell Daniel that day and hearing utter excitement in his voice. A type of excitement I can’t even begin to describe! From April on we were inseparable. We had trials and we had fun. Everything was so different now that we could see each other almost daily. For me, I knew he was the one for me at Christmas this past year. He put so much thought and care into making sure I had a wonderful Christmas although he couldn’t be with me. Then two months later, he asked me to be his wife and spend our lives together.
Daniel is the most caring, loving, doting man I have ever met. God blessed me with a man I can share the rest of my life and he wants to share his life with me.

I personally love newborn life style pictures because they show not only the baby but also her/his entourage. It’s so important to have memories about all those details for our future generation. They won’t remember them so it’s a beautiful gift for your child.

We met Makenzie and her parents the week before for a studio session and they told me that they would love some pictures of her in her room that they decorated and also few pictures with her sister, Phoebe. It was so easy to work with Phoebe; she is so sweet and well trained 🙂

I know… I am writing about day five before day four… it’s because I haven’t had any time to edit some pictures of the day. I promise I’ll go back to it later 🙂

On day five (Friday), we had the amazing opportunity to visit Graphistudio factory in Arba, Italy. I am so impressed! I knew that the wedding albums were hand-made but I didn’t realized what that really means. I thought that somebody was supervising the process and that was called “hand-made”. I was entirely wrong. The albums are truly hand-made. Somebody is in charge of our albums at each stage; I saw one lady gluing  the cover, one cutting the fine leather, one getting the engraving ready, one checking page by page that everything is exactly how it was order, …(I can’t describe each one they are so many to be sure that our albums are perfect!)

At the end of the factory visit, we were invited for a light lunch at the show room and I fell in love! I fell in love with the new album collection. They match my style and brand so well; I know that my brides will love them too! I can’t wait to order some studio samples and show them to you!

After the lunch, we took the bus to go to the Castle Ceconi. You can see two pictures of the amazing castle that I took during the evening. This place is truly magic and it’s the home of the Accademia of Photography Conte Ceconi. Graphistudio decided to create a place where photographers can network, learn, progress together. It’s an amazing gift for our community! You can learn more about the Accademia of Photography Conte Ceconi here.

The party there was amazing and the food delicious! and that’s without talking about the wines! We also had the opportunity to visit another showroom! Even more impressive with all new products that Graphistudio is working on now!!! I can’t wait for them to be ready for us to use 🙂

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO GRAPHISTUDIO, YERVANT, AND ANIE!!!  It was amazing!!!

Severine, I’m glad that you are passionate about photography and the work you do. Venice was a great experience for all of us and it definitely opened up new doors for me. I wish you much greater success in this business and hope to see more of your engaging works of art. PMReplyCancel

I apologize to have not written anything yesterday. I was too tired!

We started the day at 10am with some theory by Yervant. He explained how he shoots, how he guides his brides-grooms, how when he shoots he always thinks about the albums he will create and shoot for it and much more! When time came to choose groups leader I was one of them… interesting experience to say the less. Think about having 7 photographers together and one model (or a couple) and a time frame of 30 min. Everybody ask something different of the model and try to get the best angle. That was crazy. My Swiss personality came back and I decided to give 3.45 min to each photographer to be the leader. That means that during this time the model will do what the leader want. The other photographers are allowed to shoot but couldn’t direct the model or bother the leader. I think it worked pretty well and nobody got killed (just joking…well…some groups fought so bad that they had to rearrange after the first time… lol). We all got amazing shoots that was the ultimate goal!

So from 1pm to 7pm we shot 8 amazing brides and/or couples in the streets of Venice. The dream!!!! On top of it, one slot was with Yervant and one with Vito. Vito is Yervant associate. He is also a brilliant photographer. I learnt so much during those two slots that I can even express how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to be here. I also discover that I am on the right track. I am slowly fine tuning my style and I couldn’t be happier. I have been working really hard to define myself as a photographer. I know that my technique is here and that my pictures are beautiful but I want more. I want to create art.

Participating in workshop, learning from the masters, exchanging ideas with photographers from all around the world, going to conferences,  all of this help me reaching my ultimate goal and I am thankful to be able to do it. As an artist I know that the road is long and has many turns and even dead ends that make me go back and rethink but it’s also what make the road interesting 🙂

Let’s go back to the workshop…

We finished with the models around 7pm and Yervant had a night session later to show us how to use video light and flash. He also gave us the assignment to choose two pictures and edit them. He would critic each of them today. Just to give you an idea, I came back with 1500 pictures! Not really easy to choose two and I spend half of my night working on it.

This morning before the workshop started I spent few hours editing my two pictures. I don’t know how I got lucky like this but Yervant started with my pictures! First, he likes both of them (yeah for me!!!!), very good composition and nice editing. He offers to finalize them and I thought I was dreaming! Yervant helping me to make my pictures perfect! He showed us how to do it and I have to say, created two masterpieces! We spent from 11am to 9pm on critic and editing… long long day.

Here is one of the picture that Yervant helped me to finish:

The only critic that Yervant had is that the arm is too straight but he really liked the composition. Here are below few other pictures that I edited today. I am not ready yet to share the second picture that Yervant helped to finish. I promise to show it to you soon 🙂

Tomorrow we have a long day so I will go ahead and try to sleep a little.

I would love your comments about those pictures 🙂

I think these are gorgeous, Severine. I have been watching your work over the last couple of years, and it is just more and more gorgeous. Keep up your wonderfully artist captures. So jealous you are getting to work with Yervant in Italy. I have had the privilege of hearing him talk a couple of times, but have never been in one of his workshops. I fell in love with Italy and the people of Italy, last year, when i was there for a wedding. Have fun-and I can’t wait to see more!ReplyCancel
