Josmary & Eric decided that the best moment for their Jacksonville Beach couples pictures would be at sunrise. I have to admit that I have a hard time waking up for sunrise (I am definitely an evening/night person…) and that day wasn’t an exception. I put two alarm clocks because my husband had to be at work at 5am and he wouldn’t be home to wake me up. Well… I didn’t hear any (I am still convince that they didn’t ring…) and Josmary called me at the time of the session asking where I was 🙂  Thankfully she called me and I am not living too too far so I was there early enough to catch the perfect light. Since that day I asked Dan to call me when he leaves his house for the sessions so I still have time to be on time if I haven’t woke up yet…

I am so happy that they decided for sunrise; the light was gorgeous that morning and the beach was empty. It was the perfect morning for their Jacksonville beach couple pictures and we could even take a lot with their handsome young boy Django.

We are excited to announce that Severine Photography is now opening the studio for the Downtown Jacksonville Art Walk. Art Walk is held on the first Wednesday of each month, it takes place from 5pm to 9pm at venues all over downtown Jacksonville. During Art Walk galleries and businesses host artist, have live performances or display art, turning downtown into an a nice little art district. It is  always so much fun walking around and exploring all the venues and viewing the  amazing art on display.

Ever since we chose to open the studio downtown we have planned to open for Art Walk. September is the Pet Walk an Art Walk all about pets where venues display pet themed art work, and people are encouraged to come downtown with their pets. Since we love animals and capturing beautiful portraits of pets we thought it would be the perfect Art Walk to start participating in. At the studio we will have an exhibition of some of our pet photography, and will be setting up our photo booth where people can have fun and get a few photos with their furry friends.

It’s going to be a fun night and I hope many people come to the studio.

Megan & Justin Jacksonville engagement session  pictures are due since a while back in the blog because the wedding is this Saturday in Sarasota!!! We can’t wait to be there with them!!!

We decided to take the engagement photos behind my house because they wanted a natural backdrop and I have a beautiful little forest just on the back of my patio. The light was magical this morning and we were able to create those pictures that Megan & Justin wanted for their engagement. We were even able to get few with their dog before he went to play with my two dogs, Zizou and Comet in the backyard.

Megan and Justin proposal story is usual because she had already started to plan their wedding before the official proposal! Here is the story of the proposal written by Megan:

THE PROPOSAL

I had already started some wedding planning. Set the date, had a venue booked and bridesmaids dresses ordered. When Justin and I went home for the holidays we decided to make an announcement that we had set the date. While we were all gathered around the tree at Justin’s grandparent’s house, we stood up to make the announcement. Justin pulled me in front of the tree to make us center stage. He began with ” As you all know we have been dating for a while now” . I am expecting him to finish that sentence with and we have set the date for our wedding next year. Instead he drops down he one knee and ask me to marry him. I say yes (of course) and hug him, almost knocking him to the ground. Megan

We were so happy to be part of Melissa & Jeremy Winterbourne fl wedding! It was a beautiful day full of friendships and love. We started the day the Victory Lutheran Church with a beautiful ceremony. Jeremy and his father played two songs during the ceremony; Jeremy played piano and his father guitar.

The reception was at Winterbourne on St Johns and we got so lucky with the weather! It didn’t rain and Melissa & Jeremy could have their first dance on the lawn as they wanted!!

I love to leave my couples write about their story so here is Melissa and Jeremy one:

It is hard to believe that we have been engaged for over a year now and while we have been busy planning the wedding we have also been having a lot of fun and getting prepped for a celebration of God’s gift of marriage and of course our celebration of family friends and all those we love.
For those of you who have not heard our engagement story, let me fill you in. For those who have heard this before, enjoy the encore of the story, it was so cool.
It is early 2012 and Melissa has planned a surprise birthday party for me in February. Now she knows full well that I do not like receiving any extra attention for my birthday, but hey love makes you do stuff. In the middle of all this planning I received a phone call with an anonymous tip saying Melissa was planning this party for me.
Now I had purchased an engagement ring and was trying to find the right time and right place to ask the big question. With this “surprise” for me, I saw my moment and was ready.
I put my plan in motion by organizing three of my buddies to be at the “birthday party” and to shoot video with cameras that I had borrowed from work. I asked them to set up the cameras so that there would be a wide shot of the whole event and then two close up shots. One camera was to take video of her face and one of mine. This way I could make a finished video that would not only remember the moment and the day, but allow us to rewind to see her face as she reacted to my “surprise” at her party.
The day of the party Melissa and I were supposedly heading somewhere to dinner but she conveniently wanted me to meet her at the clubhouse of her apartment complex to help her with a delivery she received. With my prior knowledge of the “event” I countered her lie to me with a lie of my own saying “I hope it wasn’t a big birthday gift”
As we walked into the club house (it has clear glass doors) she no longer could hope to conceal her secret from me. I walked in and I did try to act surprised but the singing of happy birthday to me soon turned to guests who were yelling “speech.”
I signaled them to calm down and then (and only then) did I reveal to my lovely Melissa, that I knew her birthday party secret. She started to get upset but before she could protest and ask who had spilled the beans, I turned to a very good friend who had the ring.
It was right then and there that I got down on one knee, in front of everyone, and asked her to marry me. And while I was so nervous (I actually had the ring box upside down when I got down on my knee but that has been edited out of the video) I had truly made it a proposal to remember.
